Swindon, UK (PRWEB UK) 13 January 2012

ISL Online, the global online collaboration software provider, has released a new version of enterprise remote access software, ISL AlwaysOn 2., which introduces unlimited file sharing and extends some other capabilities of the software.

Unlimited file sharing: access files remotely and infect access to others

The new ISL AlwaysOn 2. allows users to share files with anyone and easy access the chosen files faster than always. There is no ask to tie to the distant computer to access distant files. An user but logs in to their ISL Online web account at http://www.islonline.com from anyplace. There, the user can glimpse the list of distant computers and download shared files. Each shared folder has an unequaled URL link which can be emailed to a distant user. This way, files, too large to be directed via email, can be shared between users online. Furthermore, if given the ‘entire access’ permission by an account owner, guest users can modify files or yet upload unexampled files to the shared folder. A service like to Dropbox but with a significant difference – there is no shared quota. The account storage space is but limited by the size of the local computer’s difficult disk.

Besides being able to access remote files on the fly the ISL AlwaysOn 2. also allows you to execute some other actions from a web account:

Wake on LAN (WOL) a remote computer     Change the access password to one or all remote computers     Shut down the remote computer     Retrieve remote system information

Why does everyone care about tablet computers now?

Question by : Why does everyone care about tablet computers now?
I remember back in the early 2000′s, I saw doctors use these tablet computers with Windows XP on them. I remember thinking “Hey those look pretty cool, but I don’t see why I’d need one.” When Apple launched the Ipad, I had huge doubts that it would be successful. But now all of a sudden, people actually want tablet computers to the point where there are plenty of ipad imitators. I know apple has always had a thing for taking existing technology and managing to make it cool, but why is there now a following for tablet computers? From the looks of its operating system, it looks like your just carrying an oversized Iphone with slightly more functionality minus the phone, so whats the real advantage to using this thing over a laptop computer?

Best answer:

Answer by Andrew L
At the moment I’d agree. If you have a smartphone either iOS, WP7 or Android then you really don’t need any of the existing tablets. However, Windows 8 is being targeted specifically at the tablet form, and then we may start seeing that touch screen is (in a lot of ways) better than mouse only. It’ll only be a matter of time and Apple will release a tablet sporting OSX. It is all just being held back by the availability of cheap SSDs, but the prices are falling almost daily. So, this time next year we can expect to see 250GB SSD Tablet PCs. Then we may prefer them to the laptop. Also, the fact that the hardware has to be more specific for tablets means that games etc written for that tablet spec will work. No more having to invest in the brand new Radeon 9billion to run a game, or wondering if your laptop will run it. There will be games written specifically for those chip sets.

Are Tablet Computers popular in US colleges? Should I use one in college?

Question by : Are Tablet Computers popular in US colleges? Should I use one in college?
I will be going to community college for 2 years starting this year to study and move to university to study engineering, most likely aerospace engineering. Now I have a regular laptop that I use for internet, notes, surfing internet, etc. I live in California in America and I found those Tablet Computers that you can use them to take handwritten notes with (they are really compact and very useful, you can draw on them too or draw diagrams) instead of taking notes on paper and all that mess. My question: are those tablet computers widespread across colleges and universities in America? Are they so rare that mine might get stolen? Are they useful for engineering students like me? Should I buy one or just use my laptop and pen and papers? Tell me your ideas, thanksI really hate using paper and notebooks because they end up wearing out and that kinda stuff besides I love using technology

Best answer:

Answer by J
I don’t think so because tablets are just for people who want to show off and it slows you down. Paper and Note is better because once you write it, it stays there. The problem with computers is that when you write or type, you can screw up..it will happen and forget to save. Just go to your closest college and walk around…especially in cafeteria.

HiddenRadio Tops Christmas Lists this Season! Thousands Including Adam Savage of Mythbusters Are Swooping Them Up on Kickstarter.com

HiddenRadio Tops Christmas Lists this Season! Thousands Including Adam Savage of Mythbusters Are Swooping Them Up on Kickstarter.com

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 20, 2011

Two designers, 4 weeks and over $ 380,000 of crowd support is making the HiddenRadio a “not so hidden” success.

The success of this design has been so massive that the HiddenRadio has been selected as part of the 2012 gift box celebrities will receive for the Academy Awards Oscar ceremony.

The product is only available on Kickstarter until January 18th, and more than 2100 fans are not only backing it with dollars but with suggestions and ideas as well.

The product was designed on the basis of consumer intuition. No knobs, buttons, or displays: The user simply twists the sleek metallic or graphite black housing to elegantly adjust the volume. While its minimalism remains intact, the device has been upgraded and now multiple speakers can be connected with a simple twist of the cap to literally lift the roof with booming sound.

“Our supporters have asked and we have listened. The extra money has allow us to add new features and deliver an even higher quality product”, says Australian designer John Van Den Nieuwenhuizen now based out of San Francisco. John and his business partner Vitor Santa Maria founded Hidden Design o’er 4 years ago. Vitor is from Rio de Janeiro but has been a designer in Milan for over 18 years.

“Our approach is to create simple designs which make a positive impact in people’s lives,” says Vitor. The device is both elegant and extremely useful. Several speakers can be placed around the house, creating abundant sound inside as well as outdoors.

It provides several functions: it’s a wireless Bluetooth speaker with FM radio that works with leading electronic devices like iPhones, iPods, iPads, or any other smartphones, tablets and computers. It runs on rechargeable batteries, which last over 30 hours on a single charge. There is also a standard 3.5 mm audio jack for connecting with non-Bluetooth devices.
A single HiddenRadio and Bluetooth Speaker delivers pure, powerful sound to over 80 dB. “We’ve tested it side by side with leading products on the market, and it has excelled in both sound quality and battery life,” says John.

The HiddenRadio is available now at Kickstarter.com. The clock is ticking down to pre-order and be the first to own the Bluetooth wireless speaker with FM radio. People can support the development of this product through Kickstarter.com by pre-ordering their unit for $ 119, which will normally retail for $ 175. This will secure delivery of a limited-edition product directly to their homing with global shipping included.

The designers have already invested over $ 50,000 to develop the product and the capital raised through Kickstarter.com will be spent on injection molding tools, Bluetooth certification, initial inventory, and other equipment necessary for mass production.

Just in time for the holiday gift season, this is a chance to promote and support the production of this simple, useful and elegant product before it hits the main market.
Orders can be placed for a limited time at:
